Our work says a lot about us. When I started losing my hair I wonder if I began drawing more hairless things in response. They say artists do that -- make unconscious self portraits. If they have a long face, all their characters have long faces, etc. I also wonder if making lots of busts -- no arms -- represents a lack of agency. If I gave my creations full bodies each time, would that somehow empower me?
